I already know that!

Zig Ziglar's answer to this all too common statement is:

"Maybe so but what have you done about it!"

Think about that.

All the things that you know but didn't act upon.

Or the things you were going to get around to doing when the kids would be all grown up or when you lose X amount of weight. Maybe it was when you were going to graduate or when you got that raise you were going to do that something you always wanted to do, but never did.

"Faith without works is dead"

No matter what you know, in the end, ACTION is the only thing that counts.

Have you ever met people who seemed to know it all?

Do you fall into that trap sometimes?

I know for me as soon as I catch myself thinking: "I already know that" I add the words: "But I want to learn more about it"

Learning is a journey not a destination that's for sure.

And the journey is much more enjoyable when you face each experience with an open mind and child like enthusiasm.

You already know you should cut sugar, avoid processed food, eliminate soft drinks and spend more time strengthening your mind and body through exercise, getting in the habit of performing deep breathing techniques to cleanse your body while bending and twisting your body for maximum flexibility.

If you know it then DO it!

If you need help in those areas I'd love to help. Here's a list of products that can help bridge the gap between learning something and actually implementing it.

Nutrition Tips

What does YOUR diet consist of?

While in Beijing, I was brought to a famous street, where food stands are lined up side by side, each offering their unique specialty.

This store was serving up something a little different.

Live Scorpions.

Skewered and still moving, people were lined up to sample these little critters.

I guess compared to us here in the west, this particular food doesn't look good but IS good for you. While most of OUR food looks good but isn't good for you.

This case is a little extreme but just look at the average North American's breakfast.

It's either:

1) Skipped all together
2) Cereal
3) Sugar laced coffee and a donut
4) Or even better a cream cheese bagel and a muffin.

Not to mention the junk that gets eaten during lunch time.

Yumbo! Makes for a very productive day.

Definitely not what our ancestors used to eat in the morning.

Whatever happened to water, fruits, nuts and protein first thing in the morning?

Large corporations are hard at work trying to tell you what to eat.

Use common sense. Eat what can be picked from a tree, dug up from the ground, hunted or caught in the sea.

Next time you visit the grocery store, focus on buying the food located on the outer walls of the store while avoiding most of the poisons found in the middle of it.

That coupled with an effective, short, dynamic fitness program as taught in our Station Training Kits and you'll be all set.

See what I mean here.

Where did all the nutrients go?

If you read any kind of magazine on health and nutrition, you already know most of our food is lacking the essential nutrients they once had.

Today I'm going to reveal my trust worthy source for health and vitality. An expert I've been following for many years now. I wouldn't recommend him to you if I wasn't 100% satisfied with his recommendations.

He's an anti-aging specialist with almost 30 years of experience in the field of health, wellness and preserving your youth.

A lot of doctors don't like him and would like to keep him quiet because what he reveals is often the total opposite of what the mainstream (drug companies, and doctors who've been, how should I say? Bought by those drug companies to push their drugs, etc...) is recommending in the areas of heart health, cholesterol, high blood pressure drugs, and the list goes on and on.

Some of his recommendations will cost nothing, can be bought at the local health food store, they won't cause dangerous side effects (like most drugs out there), or will offer a much wiser alternative to some of your ailments associated with aging or for those who lead a very active lifestyle.

I'm always looking for ways to help you improve your martial arts, your fitness, your flexibility and expand your way of thinking. A lot of it starts with nutrition and how you fuel your body.

My father always tells me: "what you keep diminishes and what you share multiplies". I'm sharing this info with you so you too can have an edge when it comes to training and helping your body recover and perform at a peak level.

The first thing you should invest in is Fish Oil. Not just any kind of fish oil but the very best I've come across in years. Fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, promotes heart health, memory, energy, focus, soothes arthritic pain, is loaded with vitamin D (a vitamin most people are deficient in), this one has no after taste and comes lemon flavored.

Go here to see what I'm talking about and if you need any more info.

What's in our kids food?

Whenever I have free time, reading is the first thing that comes to mind. I would rather educate myself than to lay still in front of the Zombie Box.

I was reading an article yesterday from researchers of Calgary University examining 367 types of foods destined to kids.

Being a parent, as soon as someone mentions any research on food and how it effects kids, I'm all ears. Even if you don't have kids, this e-mail today warns you not to trust food companies and expect them to have you and your family's best interests at heart.

The results of their research showed that out of the 367 types of foods analyzed:

70% of the products examined contained too much sugar. (What a surprise)

23% had too much fat

17% contained way too much sodium

89% in general contained too much fat, sugar and sodium.

63% of the products boasted their high nutritional value on the package.

If we can only control 2 food poisons of our society it's: sugar and salt.

If you cut out these 2 ingredients from your diet or your children's diet, you can avoid potentially serious health problems in the future.

They are both very addictive and will require some massive will power for most people to kick it out of their diets. I'm still amazed at the record breaking line ups for donuts and coffees as the breakfast of choice of most people. Disgusting.

Food Manufacturers now have a new ingredient. It's cheaper and is used in 1000 thousands of products: Corn Starch. Next time you buy any product and scan the ingredient list you'll surely find that poison on it.

Stick to fruits and vegetables, grass fed beef (considering you're a meat eater), nuts and seeds, plenty of water and a dynamic fitness training program as taught in our strength training kits.

The next step in your training

Last April we held our Advanced Sifu Workouts seminar.

I didn't have a chance to post any pictures until, well...today!

The theme of the seminar was on introducing our Advanced Strength Training Kit coming out at the end of June and to remind everyone that our body is able to adapt itself to its environment and work conditions.

Whether you work with hot steel, in the cold, in hot humid weather, you strike a makiwara to strengthen your hand or kick a bag with your shin, your body will adapt itself quickly and efficiently to perform what you ask of it.

Remember it can go both ways. Your body can become very efficient at over-eating, sleeping, and sitting on the couch.

The same is true with your workouts.

If you fail to change your workouts and throw something different in the mix you might see yourself "plateau" during the course of your evolution.

The way our Strength Training kits are designed is very progressive. You'll see how one exercise you learned in the Basic Strength Training Kit prepares you for another in the Intermediate Kit.

Then once that exercise is strong and your body is able to perform it well, you'll see how it leads you to another one in the Advanced Kit. And so on and so on with every exercise.

The Basic and Intermediate Kits are comprised of over 136 different bodyweight and equipment assisted exercises.

I like this saying: "You are what you EAT and you are what you DO"

What kind of fuel are you pumping into your body?

Here's another saying I like:

"You can't out-exercise a bad diet"

Focus on Organic Grass-fed Meats, Vegetables, Fruits and nuts should comprise most of your daily food consumption.

There's no such thing as "Training Too Hard".

Your body will perform what you ask of it.

Set new limits for yourself.

Start using our Strenth Training System today.

Don't settle for Artificial Energy

Don't do it! I know it's tempting but don't settle for artificial energy.

It's a fact Energy Drinks actually rob you of energy.

You see them branded about everywhere nowadays.

Nothing about them interest me. Who wants to ingest 200 to 400 mg of caffeine in one drink?
Do you know which other drink boasts those same numbers? Coffee.

I know it must be hard for some of you to drop that habit. But believe me in the long-term you're in for some serious health issues.

Caffeine is the addictive element that makes coffee or energy drinks so appealing - and provides the jolt to smooth the transition from sleep to facing another day at work or school.

Take the worst energy drink out there: Monster

For every 20 oz. of Monster you drink it takes 6.3 gallons of water to flush it out of your kidneys. The average person drinks 6.3 gallons of water in 23 days. For every 20 oz of Red Bull you drink, with no sugar, it takes .9 gallons of water to flush out your kidneys and the average person drinks .9 gallons of water in about 2 days. (as published in a recent GNC article).

Once caffeine enters your bloodstream, it takes about 15 minutes for you to start feeling its effects. Caffeine stimulates the brain in the same way that cocaine and heroin does:

It blocks adenosine reception so you feel alert.
It injects adrenaline into the system to give you a boost.
It manipulates dopamine production to make you feel good.

Energy Drinks don't replenish the body after physical exertion (like sports drinks such as Gatorade).

In fact, because Energy Drinks have so much caffeine - they can actually dehydrate the drinker. That means if you're physically exerting yourself and drink just a Red Bull, the lack of hydration could strain your heart.

And if you combine energy drinks with alcohol, your risk of dehydration rises. There's another trend among teens and college students.

Students whose motor skills, visual reaction times, and judgment are impaired by alcohol may not perceive they are intoxicated as readily when they're also ingesting a stimulant, only the symptoms of drunkenness are reduced - but not the drunkenness. They can't tell if they're drunk; they can't tell if someone else is drunk. So they get hurt, or they hurt someone else.

You don't need to rely on artificial sources of energy.

The formula is quite simple: Short-dynamic-daily exercise, drink water! (3 glasses a day minimum), fruits and vegetables, protein (from nuts and lean meats), & deep breathing exercises.

You might say: "It can't be that simple!"

"Oh yes it can!", it just takes a little bit of discipline. Remember what I've talked about before:

Do you treat your body like a trash can?

Keep ingesting energy drinks and loads of coffee and you'll NEVER find the energy you were looking for in the first place.

Your health first,

Sibok Martin

Flexibility is your no.1 assett

Your level of Flexibility is directly related to your level of health.

Sifu Patrick Marcil performing a Side Kick hold
How flexible are you?

Can you touch your toes (with legs locked) ?

Can you touch your head to your knees?

Can you touch your knee to your chest?

Can you hook your hands behind your back (one from the top, one from the bottom) ?

Your body is not supposed to be stiff and in pain, it should be loose and pain-free. The first thing people do when they stretch is complain. It's almost as if they've given up even before they actually started.

Are you that person?

Hopefully you're not.

A 52 point car inspection is what stretching is for the body. You make sure everything is in working order, aligned and balanced. Stretching makes you aware of any weakness you might have in any area of your body.

What you'll especially enjoy (as I do) when you know exactly how to increase your joint mobility is the mental development that comes with it. There's so many things going on internally it would be too long for me to list here.

Pictures and video is worth a thousand words. Why don't I just show you what I mean.

Pick up the video here and if it doesn't double your flexibility like I say it will, just return it for a prompt refund.

Say goodbye to stiffness,

Sibok Martin

Is this what we've become?

I'm disgusted.

You know how the stats show that Americans and Canadians are over-weight. You wonder if it's true or not or if maybe they're exaggerating.

They're not.

We're sitting in this room where there's over 100 people. I'm being very observant as I always am, and I see the food choices they're making are just plain stupid.

I can't believe it.

No wonder they're fat as they are and they look old and tired but they're not old they're in their 30's!

Donuts, Candy, Coke, Danish, Brownies, Large size Starbucks coffee for BREAKFAST. You must be thinking what I'm thinking: "Breakfast of Champions" right?

People need to be educated! Why are they doing this to their Million Dollar Machine?

First thing we did when we got to the Hotel is find a Grocery Store. Do not eat at the hotel. It's over-priced and they don't have your best interest at heart when it comes to healthy food choices.

Get fruits that have a high antioxydant level, nuts, water, vegetables high in Vitamin C & E. And so on.

I feel great. Strong. Light. Awake. I can't imagine eating what the others are eating. Some people wonder why they find out they have type 2 diabetes when they get a routine blood test. Most people don't know. The main problem is people eat too much sugar.

Are you eating correctly?

If you're following our system, I hope you are being very smart about what you ingest. You've all heard the saying : You are what you eat.

Now, this is only what I see. Let alone what they do after the seminar that bothers me.

What about strength training?

I wonder how many of them did something similar to station training in the morning. NONE.

How many of them did breathing exercises to increase circulation. NONE.

How many stretched to loosen up and get more flexible. NONE.

How many did isometric contractions to increase strength and digestion functions. NONE.

Most people don't know that they don't know and I just find that very sad.

If you're on this list it means you're not in the dark about this and you take your health very seriously.

Knowing this, helps me calm down and realize that we can't help everybody, we can only help the ones that want to help themselves.

The first step to continually improve yourself physically is through our strength training programs. Make the right choices.

You can find them all right here.
