The Life of a Martial Artist

Man I love being a Martial Artist!

But I realize there are very few of us.

Less than 1% of the population practices Martial Arts.

Such a small amount of people get to train their mind, body and spirit on a weekly basis.

So few benefit from the confidence it helps bring out in you.

The character development that pushes you to do better every time. The focus and awareness it gives you in such a short time.

The self-discipline you acquire that makes you realize your outcomes depend on you and the choices you make. Finally realizing your health and fitness is a responsability you have to accept or suffer the consequences.

Let's not forget how it centers you. In a world filled with useless distractions, training in Martial Arts fills a need to find peace and serenity at any moment. Realizing every breath is a miracle. As well as each new day when you wake up is a chance to learn something new and experience something different.

To feel good in your skin. To make your body stronger with stretching and conditioning.

To improve the inner workings of your machine. You can do more with your body than what you were born with.

Training in Martial Arts increases your reflexes.

Almost like doing a "systems check" or a "wire check" on a computer, doing the different speed and reflex drills test how well your nervous system is linked to your brain with in turn will lead to better balance and coordination.

Your body is made to be pushed beyond its current level. It will adapt to whatever you expose it to. Both in the positive or negative.

From becoming efficient at over sleeping, finding clever ways to avoid things you fear, will still function (at a much lower level) despite poor eating choices and lack of exercise or the body will become looser and free of stiffness if you stretch it, will take you from weak and frail to strong and sturdy, will increase the bone density in many body parts because of the demands you subject them to in martial arts, will increase muscle definition to support the movements you are not accustomed to doing in the beginning.

The list of benefits are too long to include in a single e-mail.

If you're a fellow martial artist I'm sure you feel the same way and proud to call yourself one, if you're not yet, we've made it easy for you to become one or at least dip your big toe in the water to get a feel for it.

Go through our list of 22 schools to find a location near you and fill out one of our VIP forms for a 30 day Pass on us.

If you're already a student, I'll see you in class and be proud to call yourself a martial artist.

I leave you with this quote today from Michael Altshuler.

"The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot"

Get to it, Master Yourself,

Sibok Martin
